Eyebrows were raised when Tower Transit became Singapore’s first foreign bus operator this year. Among the company’s mooted policies for its drivers was the provision of 26 weeks’ of paid maternity leave for female staff.

That offer gazumps the present 16-weeks government-paid maternity leave to most workers in the island state.
